rose petals???. dyeing?

for my fashion tech class we are required to make an outfit completely out of non-material. well since my theme is floral i decided to make my outfit completely out of fake petals. but the problem is that my color scheme is dark blue and cream. cream petals are easy to find but dark blue is a a bit of a problem. is there i way that i can dye it a dark blue color??? i've seen light blue one for weddings and stuff but it's not what i had in mind.

keep in mind:

DARK blue.
preferably cheap ( i have no job)
where can i even buy fake petals?? i know michaels have some but they're quite expensive.

Your cheapest bet would be Ebay or Amazon (some sort of reliable reseller) and express ship it or something. If you go to a craft store, you're going to have to search around for some big ones and chances are they won't have enough for you (I encountered that with my wedding)
